Ingredients
Scale
- 8 slices Italian bread or sourdough bread
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 4 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto
- 4 ounces thinly sliced Genoa salami
- 2 ounces thinly sliced pepperoni
- 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
- ½ cup fresh basil leaves
- 4 tablespoons softened butter
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Prepare the Bread: Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. Sprinkle the buttered sides with Italian seasoning, ensuring even distribution.
- Start the Assembly: Heat your skillet over medium-low heat. Place four bread slices buttered-side down in the pan.
- Layer the Ingredients: Begin with a slice of provolone on each bread piece, followed by layers of prosciutto, salami, and pepperoni. Add tomato slices and fresh basil leaves, then top with another slice of provolone.
- Complete the Sandwiches: Place the remaining bread slices on top, buttered-side up. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the cheese melts completely.
- Finish and Serve: Remove from heat and let rest for 1-2 minutes. Cut diagonally and serve immediately while the cheese is perfectly melted.
